Your True Nature; Women of Gorean Ethos

What is your true nature as a woman, where do you best develop?

In order to understand where you feel best suits your character, your morality you must evaluate yourself as a woman.  Within the Gorean ethos it is intrinsically important in any growth regarding your personal journey to understand who you are, and how you prosper. Where you need to go in life and especially how to discover what your body and mind requires for a fulfilled life is so important. You owe it to yourself, and the relationships you participate in to know you. It seems weird to say, Hey you, do I know you? But frankly, as a woman in the Gorean ethos, that is exactly what you need to do to find the real you.

It is a truth today that many women struggle to define themselves among the noise of our world. This fact is not news for women. Since the very beginning of time we have spent our emotional selves out trying to figure out where we belong, and with whom. Earlier in history these details of our lives were determined by fathers, by family histories, by status and birthright. As our world began to forgive and slowly unclasp the honorifics of our beginnings we, women under the blanket of new societal freedoms began to get lost within the many choices availed to us. Birthright, social breeding, and status in society have become a distant past. To be clear, the loss was not just gender specific, men too have found struggles in how to place themselves in leadership roles, in how to be fathers, husbands, supporters to a family plan that no longer holds value in a way we have seen in our past histories.

In order for women to be true to their nature within the ethos of Gorean ideals, there must be men that are equally true to their nature, a balance. Both genders are entwined to each other. It is how humans have been biologically built, in other words, always meant to be because of our very nature. Norman used biology through his historical research and his role as Philosopher. He called it Gor, we call it living to our natural self.

(On a side note, I do know that in today’s world that gender, sexual orientations are far more open than the constriction of men vs women. This article is not for those who evaluate themselves as trans-gendered, same gender couples. This article focuses on those who choose a female to male ratio in relationships under the ethos of Gorean Philosophy.)

First you must understand the positions women in this ethos are offered are by choice, consent. Goreans do not believe in the slavery you see in our world today. No one involved as a Gorean is interested or values stealing a human being against their will, harming them, or forcing them to be something they are not. This is incredibly and extremely important to note. People that spend their resources in sex trades, illegal behavior with the detriment of women in mind, and are willing to commit horrible crime are not welcome in Normans world. In fact their best address is prison, under the laws of the land.

Goreans believe in “committed, with promises and vows relationships” that have a deeper understanding of natural order, and biology between the two sexes. In issuing this declaration in these relationships the women and men involved are able and willing to choose freely where, and who they are within the Philosophy. They consent, and choose.

The fiction of slave blocks, and women being sold on the black markets against their will is part of the novels that Norman created but it is fiction, not a reality for Goreans to live. It was used to demonstrate a fictional planet, that none of us live on, nor believe it exists. Sexually determined fantasy groups that insist that kink, sadism, BDSM, leather men, and other sexually charged grouping should be or are consistent with the ethos are not accurate. Gor does not accept sadism at all, by Normans hand.

A free woman uses three key elements in her freedom,  modesty, respect, and courtesy. She is a citizen, and she carries responsibilities under her cloak of freedom. She doesn’t shamelessly shower her sexuality, or needs openly. She conceals her private thoughts to her companion, or her household. She is a leader in her own right, and thus able to move between situations that demand of her. Her occupation if necessary would not be sexual in orientation, it would represent a woman of  modesty, and respect. She isn’t running around the world veiled up in costumes, and fictitious role play. Her veil is her modesty and it is relayed in respect earned, and courtesy given due to her station as a free woman. She isn’t the girl who would find an alley to have sex in. Shes worth more than that. To have a woman like her, a commitment would be required, vows, and promises would need to be made to her family to ensure her well being. She isn’t hiding behind role play waiting secretly for her love master, hoping not to serve others. She is free in all aspects, and demonstrates this freedom appropriately in private conversations with men, and publicly as a role model.

Men do not doubt her freedom, they are certain she is indeed free. No secrets are shared between other men of her secret trysts. She is true to her nature, her natural freedom. Her intelligence, her patience, are valued. She is a lady, and all around her know it by her mere presence. The class in which she demonstrates as a lady is felt. Her ability to be part of a Gorean home based on the ethos is a given. She has no hatred for property, in fact if it is the pleasure of her companion to own, she throws her entire weight and support behind him lovingly, and openly. She too learns management of property by his lead, his successes. After all she is as much a companion and his, as her companion is hers.

This companionship as you can see below in the text is different than anything we have experienced outside the Gorean ethos. Perhaps that is why so many women and men are bitter, and in pain. They are not allowed to be who, and what they were meant to be.

Goreans on the other hand are content, and loved.

How different are the relationships of the men of Earth with women. On Gor I see, on the whole, contentment and love; on the Earth I see, on the whole, discontentment and misery. Who shall say which is best? Perhaps discontentment and misery are superior to contentment and love. Who knows? Goreans, however, we might note, whatever be the truth in these matters, have chosen contentment, and love. Let each choose, perhaps, that which is best for him.” John Norman

As you can see, a prime directive of Gorean ethos, is to choose yourself what state you live in emotionally, and how your relationship will look. Its always been a choice.

A kajira embodies two objectives that she must wholly accept, and certainly demonstrate daily. First to exemplify beauty, and secondly to be completely obedient. She is property meaning she has no status, nor citizenship other than being owned at the pleasure of a Gorean. She is completely owned by her consent everyday and in that ownership she will do anything to please, she will be eager to serve. Every day she has the right to remove consent, and say no. She is a kajira by her own choice. She is openly sexual, she is not afraid to show her sexuality at any given time, as she is incapable of controlling her needs in the presence of strong Gorean men. She is not even permitted “the control or to hide her sexual needs”.

Now given that many spent time in online forums, I will address these conditions as well. The role play of women who consent to being kajira in online mediums,  sometimes demonstrate feigning arrogance, misbehaving, arguing with the free, being rude, mouthing people who travel through various chat locations, this behavior is all fiction.  Those girls who argue, spend precious and valuable time whining and complaining about what others say or don’t say aren’t invested in a reality of consenting surrender.  These women fraudulently hide in the role play of either being a free woman waiting for their perfect love Masters, or they are a married woman who wants to participate in cybersex while her husband in reality is not available or working, or she is disabled to the point she can not become a reality based kajira, there fore she can only type it. These gals are seriously folks who play online only much like a video game. It would be far easier if they simply stated they were role playing, rather than living the ethos in reality.

Women who are found to be pursuing Gorean ethos are not petty, or small especially the kajira. A kajira who is based in reality spends her focus on being owned, and pleasing her owner. She sees nothing else. Her behavior especially if poorly seen would show her owner to be weak, and weakness is sickening within the Philosophy. She would not desire to bring pain, or any sort of displeasure to her station or the man she loves.

She is capable and able to kneel as a woman of her station should. She is not crippled and broken, nor is she youthfully 20 forever. Her body has prepared itself to serve men, and that is just what she does. She isn’t 80 years old seeking to pretend she is 30, with a heart shaped ass, but make no mistake she is all woman. She wouldn’t dare to lower herself to fighting with free women because women work together to please the men they love regardless of station, or surrender. It is beyond dishonest to argue, and be petty in front of Gorean men, they simply have no time for such worthless behavior. A kajira will do anything her Master asks of her, willingly. Why? Because a kajira has taken the time to know who she has surrendered to. She does not surrender to sadists, criminals, liars, thieves, cheats, creeps, and so forth. She surrenders by her own free will to a man of morality, honesty, decency, with standing in his community capable of looking after her soul, her very being.

She lifted her head, and, extending her slender, closely collared neck, delicately tendered the whip into my grasp. I took the whip from her, and she looked at me, frightened. Was she now to be whipped? The decision, of course, was mine. I folded the blades of the whip back against the staff, and held out the staff and blades to her. Suddenly, gratefully, tears in her eyes, sobbing, and half gasping and choking with relief, kneeling before me, grasping my calves, her head over my thighs, she covered the whip, that symbol of masculinity, and of the authority of men over her, and specifically of my own authority over her, with kisses.“I kiss your whip, my Master,” she said, gratefully, continuing to kiss the brutal, uncompromising blades and staff. “I submit to you a thousand times! Thank you for not whipping me! I am your slave, and I love you!” She then looked up at me, joyfully. “I love you, my Master,” she said. “I love you!” Then, joyfully, kneeling before me, she put her left cheek down upon my right thigh. “I love you,” she said. “I love you, my Master. Command me,” she begged. “I am eager to serve you. I will do anything.”

Now you know explicitly the difference between a woman who is owned, and a woman who is free. You are able to now look within you deeply gals to find which of these women best hold your heart and describe the “you.” Which station will serve you, and your life to the fullest? These articles, these tools are just that. To guide you to readings the books, to understanding what actions demonstrate each consented station for women within the ethos of Gor.

Remember, you must concede to read the entirety of the series several times over to have a capable and full understanding “less the fiction” to make these life choices. Utilize your understanding to move through the many layers in the Philosophy, and dig deeper than the stories themselves. You may not choose to be either woman, free or surrendered after reading everything and spending your time learning. Perhaps Gorean ethos will not appeal to you, but that you merely visit the many friends you may have made through your understandings or journeys. Thats ok too.

This ethos does not require men to own a woman, or women to be owned. This ethos doesn’t require a man to take his life long companion, those are simply the consequences of being a Gorean man, you see beautiful intelligent women both free, and property will desire to be theirs and in effect be at their feet always because of who and what they are. Gor is not hard for Goreans once they understand the truths within the many layers of this Philosophy, minus the fiction.

To be sure, let us not appear to blame the man of Earth. He labors, usually, in a desert of sexual starvation. Some of his most basic physical needs are often frustrated, cruelly and systematically. In such a world, where he is seldom granted more than the appearances of women, it is natural for him to become, sadly, preoccupied with mere appearances. Often he knows little more of women than these appearances, with which he is expected, culturally, to make do.

The Gorean, on the other hand, who might buy a woman, or have a lovely slave in a paga tavern for the price of a drink, has little trouble with the satisfaction of his basic sexual needs. These needs satisfied he can then attend to the latent richnesses of the prizes he can command.”

No one sex has a monopoly on dogmatism.” I looked at her. “If you are interested in this sort of thing from the Gorean viewpoint,” I said, “free men and women are usually attentive to the thoughts and feelings of one another. Not only are they free, but they may even share a Home Stone. Free women, in being free, command attention when they speak. It is their due. The case with slaves, such as you, my dear, is of course much different. The difference, however, is that respect and attention is not due to you, that it need not be accorded to you. You are slave. In actual practice, of course, masters tend to pay a great deal of attention to the thoughts and feelings of their lovely slaves. It is rewarding and delicious to do so. How wonderful it is to know another human being so intimately, especially one one owns. There are no secrets between masters and slaves.”
