Beauty — A Cornerstone of Gorean Philosophy

In my trav­els with­in the com­mu­ni­ties sub­scrib­ing to real­i­ty based expec­ta­tion, liv­ing and under­stand­ing cor­ner­stone ethos of Gor I was asked; “How does it trans­late for those liv­ing the philosophy? 

“Do you place a high val­ue on beauty?”

Below is the answer to one of the most endur­ing cor­ner­stones to the ethos of John Norman, writ­ten in the series, Gor.

Goreans put a high val­ue on beau­ty. “If it is not beau­ti­ful, it is not Gorean”. This is one of many cor­ner­stones to Gorean Philosophy echoed by Norman. Norman him­self made the state­ment in answer­ing and explain­ing Gorean ethos vs oth­er kinks that want to com­pare them­selves, or even share Gorean Philosophy in same­ness, such as sadism. Sadism is not a Gorean attribute. Norman spoke specif­i­cal­ly to this. He made it very clear, if it is not beau­ti­ful, it is sim­ply not Gorean. Also to note, He did not imply that sen­ti­ment as an only to women man­date, he applied it to all “Gorean”. Norman set the foundation.

“I know noth­ing about “real-life Gorean slav­ery among some peo­ple in the BDSM com­mu­ni­ty.” The “BDSM” ref­er­ence wor­ries me. I dis­so­ci­ate myself from BDSM, at least as I under­stand it. I may, of course, mis­un­der­stand it. I won­der if one would set­tle mere­ly for “real-life Gorean slav­ery,” because, as I under­stand it, BDSM is not Gorean. If some­thing is not beau­ti­ful, it is not Gorean.”

I cer­tain­ly can under­stand why folks mis­tak­en­ly want to focus on sur­ren­dered women only as hav­ing a man­date of beau­ty how­ev­er, both men and women with­in Gorean cir­cles have mea­sures to be met with­in them­selves before attempt­ing to blend in a rela­tion­ship of com­pan­ion­ship, or even mas­tery over a con­sen­su­al sur­ren­dered woman.

Beauty is one of the start­ing points in build­ing a Gorean foun­da­tion. Measures to action beau­ty, as an indi­vid­ual Gorean, a man accept­ing sur­ren­der, or a woman pur­su­ing a Gorean rela­tion­ship, is an absolute require­ment to enable build­ing to con­tin­ue under the ethos. The mea­sures con­tin­ue the jour­ney forward.

If these Gorean mea­sures are not met with con­sen­su­al agree­ment, accep­tance and appli­ca­tion, the rela­tion­ship whether sur­ren­dered or com­pan­ion-ed is cer­tain­ly not going to go the dis­tance. Goreans are expect­ed to under­stand beau­ty and imple­ment it to them­selves, and to those with­in their cir­cle of steel. This is indis­putable, and expect­ed of Goreans.

The dis­cov­ery of beau­ty that engage both sex­es to want, need, pur­sue, and be part of one anoth­er are actu­al­ly built in to us, we human beings already have the hard­ware in place. Its not sub­jec­tive, its sci­en­tif­ic. It is nat­ur­al to our species.

Character, and class you see still counts nat­u­ral­ly and scientifically.

Good groom­ing, good lovers, moral char­ac­ter, deci­sive­ness, ten­der­ness, protectiveness
reli­a­bil­i­ty, help­ful­ness, matu­ri­ty, emo­tion­al­ly sta­ble, eco­nom­i­cal­ly respon­si­ble, humor
car­ing, for­giv­ing, patience, humil­i­ty, integri­ty, gen­eros­i­ty of spir­it, chival­ry, kindness
coura­geous­ness, faith­ful­ness, mas­culin­i­ty, authen­tic­i­ty, pas­sion, and intelligence

Men are attract­ed and desire women that have;
A wider waist to hips ratio, a high voice, smiles: well obvi­ous­ly, hap­py peo­ple are attrac­tive peo­ple, but sci­ence has also proven the whiter the teeth, the bet­ter, less make­up, height, boobs in com­bi­na­tion to waist(yes there is a for­mu­la), good groom­ing, con­fi­dence, healthy, kind, dress­es well, com­fort­ably with self, intel­li­gence, adven­tur­ous, a cook( very impor­tant to share meals of the same kind), inter­est­ing, hon­est, authen­tic, com­pli­men­ta­ry, smell(we need to smell real­ly good) and clear, bright eyes.

Why is that?

Why are men and women attract­ed to these spe­cif­ic traits that demon­strate beauty?

Nature.

Inside of us we already have the sub­lim­i­nal tags to draw us to what we find beau­ti­ful, what, or who we should be with by our bio­log­i­cal and nat­ur­al hard­ware. Intelligence, and com­mu­ni­ca­tion mix­es in to engage our unique nat­ur­al bio­log­i­cal frame­work to form valu­able rela­tion­ships around us.

We are incred­i­bly com­plex, and yet able to relate to our nat­ur­al part­ners, and or sur­ren­dered prop­er­ty uti­liz­ing this hard­ware with­in us. Sometimes we choose to ignore it, choose to fault out. That is a choice in defi­ance of who we are, but because we are giv­en free will, we have the right to deny who we are bio­log­i­cal­ly, by choice of free will.

Some Gorean men don’t even par­tic­i­pate in accept­ing con­sen­su­al sur­ren­dered women. Many are out there com­pan­ion-ed, and liv­ing their lives. Some are not even involved with women at all, they are just liv­ing on their own enjoy­ing life. Surrendered women are sim­ply a con­se­quence to men who are Gorean. Those who lead will always find those who want to fol­low them in their midst.

“Are most Gorean women slaves?” she asked.
“No,” I said, “indeed, sta­tis­ti­cal­ly, in those parts of Gor which I am famil­iar, very few. Commonly only one woman in say, forty or fifty is a slave. This varies some­what, of course, from city to city.

Men of val­ue, and char­ac­ter have a leg above oth­er men who deny their val­ue, and char­ac­ter, in under­stand­ing the nature of women. Goreans, men in par­tic­u­lar know how deep women are, and how to devel­op and con­tin­ue to explore the depth of their beauty.

When Goreans sit back and look at the moth­er of their chil­dren, exam­ine the woman they love, eval­u­ate the man they are with; no book or no quotes can show them what they know will strength those they love by foun­da­tions under our ethos. A Goreans nature when devel­oped cor­rect­ly and pure­ly answers this eas­i­ly. We already have access to the built in hard­ware in our­selves, we only have to choose by free will to respond to it or not.

Goreans must silence the mis­in­for­ma­tion, climb the moun­tains of truth, and spend the time we need to become. Half pieces, bro­ken peo­ple know they need to heal, renew, and become again before pur­su­ing com­plex rela­tion­ships and ethos. To do oth­er wise is sim­ply self­ish, and destruc­tive in nature. Broken is not beautiful.

If a man strug­gles with under­stand­ing his nat­ur­al bio­log­i­cal self, then he should not be purs­ing a rela­tion­ship with a woman on any lev­el until he can tap into that intel­li­gence with­in him­self. How reck­less would it be for a man to sim­ply want a woman to want her, and under­stand noth­ing about shel­ter­ing her, car­ing for her, or allow­ing her con­sen­su­al sur­ren­der as an igno­rant per­son in her life.

The exact same con­cept goes for women, how dare they lay them­selves at the feet of men, less than. How dare they pur­sue men as a com­pan­ion when they have no con­cept who they are. How beneath and self­ish they are to spend oth­ers time, and con­sid­er­a­tion know­ing they are not ful­ly able. Broken is not beautiful.

We as a com­mu­ni­ty have seen men and women who are reck­less with many dif­fer­ent rela­tion­ships, some have left vul­ner­a­ble chil­dren behind, some have been crim­i­nal­ly charged, oth­ers have escaped such rad­i­cal police inter­ven­tion, and yet oth­ers have been splashed in media with very loose con­nec­tions to Gorean ethos. All irre­spon­si­ble, and inca­pable. Goreans do not spend their time, or assets sup­port­ing those out­side of decency.

Men are cer­tain­ly mis­tak­en if they think they can lead, with­out lead­er­ship. Women are mis­tak­en if they think they can fol­low a man, with­out lead­er­ship. Broken con­cepts, and foun­da­tions are not beau­ti­ful. Half assed, half done, half baked? None of these things are suc­cess­ful nor do they even taste good in our mouths.

Some have argued with the quote below,

It sup­pos­es that men who have com­pan­ion-ed, who have picked women in cloth­ing are fool­ish. In the con­text you sen the quote out, it is inac­cu­rate. Goreans in today’s world would look stu­pid walk­ing around with a nude chick, or try­ing to buy a woman with cash on hand. It is fool­ish and ille­gal. Again Goreans do not live chat­tel slav­ery. We engage in con­sen­su­al sur­ren­der from prop­er­ty. Not just any prop­er­ty, beau­ti­ful property.

Lets not for­get, peo­ple who have no con­cept of Gorean ethos are afraid of it. It is not nec­es­sary to hoist your­self in the pub­lic eye cry­ing out, “I am Gorean!” with your name, address, tele­phone num­ber, and real life pic­ture to prove valid­i­ty. Heck next we will have a leather dude on you-tube demand­ing to see a wife, or con­sen­su­al sur­ren­dered woman as proof Goreans exist sim­ply because he has nev­er wit­nessed Goreans him­self. (Oh wait, that might have hap­pened already, oops.)

Unless you want some­one you don’t know to fall across your web­sites, social media, and judge you inac­cu­rate­ly, per­haps even call­ing child pro­tec­tion because you are moron and let minors near sex­u­al­ly charged images all for the sake of call­ing your­self Gorean. Selfish. Certainly not capa­ble of putting a house­hold, or chil­dren ahead of your own needs. Their best inter­est and all that.

And well, Lets face it, a 65 year old woman or man kneel­ing nude isn’t for every­one. No, it is not fool­ish being part of woman who is clothed, it is wise in today’s times to reserve your fam­i­ly dynam­ic to those with­in the cir­cle of your steel. Build the walls, I say. Build the gulches, the time has come.

Men who are look­ing for val­ue, sur­ren­der, or a spe­cif­ic type of woman cer­tain­ly would get no long term mileage from a woman strip­ping her imme­di­ate­ly. Like onions, women have lay­ers, love­ly won­der­ful, spe­cial, amaz­ing pieces that can be tak­en slow­ly off. A man who under­stands his lead­er­ship, mas­tery of him­self, knows how to find those answers. He isn’t inca­pable of con­trol­ling his sex­u­al­i­ty, he has mas­tered him­self, and women around him. A fool would expect imme­di­ate results from a woman. Careless, and self­ish, unable to build any­thing of value.

And this has been used to argue,

Not every beau­ti­ful woman needs to be or can be col­lared. In fact in real­i­ty a Gorean does not even need to own a woman in this sense. We, as Goreans do not enslave peo­ple against their will, why that is just BDSM role-play, and games. In a world where safe words are nec­es­sary, Goreans are absent.

Norman does not want BDSM asso­ci­at­ed with his books, his Philosophy.

To start from the beginning;

“How does it trans­late for those liv­ing the phi­los­o­phy?. Do you place a high val­ue on beauty?”

Absolutely Goreans put a high val­ue on beau­ty. “If it is not beau­ti­ful, it is not Gorean”. This is a cor­ner­stone to Gorean Philosophy echoed by Norman.

Beauty is an extreme­ly impor­tant asset, and fur­ther found­ing stone to Goreans, and not because it comes from a plas­tic con­tain­er in its appli­ca­tion,  mea­sure­ments in a waist size, phys­i­cal­i­ty, but because Goreans require it to pur­sue the Philosophy itself.
